## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: THE AIRCRAFT HAD BEEN SPRAYING PESTICIDES ON A COTTON FIELD FOR APPROXIMATELY 10 MINUTES WHEN DURING A DESCENT, THE LANDING GEAR STRUT HIT AN ELECTRIC WIRE. THE WIRE WAS CUT BY THE LANDING GEAR WIRE STRUT CUTTER. HOWEVER, CAUSING NO DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND NO OTHER PROPERTY DAMAGE. THE PLANE CONTINUED SPRAYING THE FIELD UNTIL ITS WEIGHT WAS REDUCED ENOUGH TO LAND SAFELY AT THE SUFFOLK MUNICIPAL AIRPORT. THE PILOT CONTACTED VIRGINIA POWER. THE PILOT WAS COUNSELED AS TO PROPER METHODS OF SCOUTING FIELDS PRIOR TO SPRAYING. INCIDENT CLOSED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
