## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: UPON LANDING NOSE GEAR COLLAPSED. MAIN GEAR DOWN & LOCKED. DAMAGE TO NOSE SECTION, PROPS, NOSE GEAR. AIRCRAFT ON LOCAL TRAINING FLIGHT. NOTE: PLEASE SEE ATTACHED MEMORANDUM; A FURTHER INVESTIGATION TO THE PIPER PA34-200, N2882T INCIDENT REVEALED THE FOLLOWING. AN INSPECTION OF THE AIRCRAFT INDICATED THAT THE NOSE GEAR HAD BEEN DAMAGED IN A PRIOR HARD LANDING. THE AIRCRAFT LOG BOOK SHOWED THAT THE RIGHT ENGINE'S PROPELLER HAD BEEN CHANGED LESS THAN 5 HOURS PRIOR TO THIS INCIDENT. THE OWNER STATED THAT THE PROPELLER HAD BEEN CHANGED DUE TO GROUND STRIKE DAMAGE. IT IS SUSPECTED THAT THE NOSE GEAR WAS DAMAGED AT THAT TIME. ORDINARILY THE PILOT CAUSING THE DAMAGE WOULD BE SUBJECT TO A (RE-TEST) CHECK RIDE, HOWEVER, THIS CANNOT BE PROVED, THEREFORE NO FURTHER ACTION WILL BE TAKEN.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
