## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: AIRCRAFT WAS ENROUTE TO KENOSHA, WI (ENW) DURING CRUISE FLIGHT THE ENGINE FAILED. THE PILOT MADE AN UNEVENTFUL EMERGENCY LANDING IN A FARM FIELD. INVESTIGATION REVEALED THE ENGINE DRIVEN FUEL PUMP HAD FAILED. FUEL PUMP FAILURE WAS CAUSED BY A RETAINING WASHER GASKET SEPARATING FROM THE PULL ROD ASSEMBLY AND LODGING IN THE PUMP OUTLET VALVE. IN THIS CONDITION THE AIRCRAFT ELECTRIC BOOST PUMP CAN NOT BYPASS FUEL TO THE ENGINE. LYCOMING WAS NOTIFIED. A S.B.525 WAS ISSUED AND AN A D IS PENDING.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
