## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: PILOT DEPARTED SFB ENROUTE TO CRG. APPROXIMATELY 15 NM SOUTHWEST OF SGJ, AIRCRAFT DOOR CAME OPEN CAUSING A SEVERE AIRFRAME VIBRATION. PILOT LANDED AT SGJ AND EXPERIENCED A HARD LANDING. SHORTLY AFTER TOUCHDOWN, THE AIRCRAFT BECAME UNCONTROLLABLE AND DEPARTED THE RIGHT SIDE OF RUNWAY 06 INTO SOFT SAND COLLAPSING THE RIGHT MAIN GEAR. INVESTIGATION REVEALED THAT THE UPPER LANDING GEAR STRUT HAD FRACTURED ON LANDING ALLOWING THE GEAR TO TURN TO THE RIGHT. MINOR DAMAGE TO AIRCRAFT LIMITED TO RIGHT LANDING GEAR AND DOORS, PROPELLER AND LOWER COWLING. THIS INCIDENT IS CLOSED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
