## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: FLIGHT CREW MADE A MISSED APPROACH AT LIT. THEIR AIRCRAFT WAS ALIGNED WITH 4L ALTHOUGH THEY WERE ON AN ILS 4R. PILOTS STATED THEY WERE DOING "S" TURNS TO LOSE ALTITUDE AND ENDED UP ON LEFT SIDE. AM AIRLINES CHIEF PILOT, CAPT. MINOR, COUNSELED CREW ON OCCURRENCE. VERIFIED BY DFW FSDO OFFICE. AMERICAN AIRLINES WILL HAVE THE FLIGHT CREW RETRAIN VIA SIMULATOR ON INSTRUMENT APPROACHES. THIS INVOLVED AN OPERATIONAL PROCEDURE FOR AMERICAN AIRLINES FLIGHT CREWS. NO ACTION IS NEEDED FROM FAA.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
