## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: A CANADIAN REGISTERED AIRCRAFT WAS BEING FLOWN TO PIQUA, OHIO FOR PROPELLER MAINTENANCE. DURING AN APPROACH TO PIQUA, OHIO (I17) AN UNSAFE NOSE GEAR INDICATION WAS DISCOVERED. THE PILOT DIVERTED TO SIDNEY, OHIO (I12), LANDED IN THE GRASS, WITH THE NOSE GEAR FOLDING ON LANDING. DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT WAS LIMITED TO THE PROPELLER, FRONT OF THE ENGINE COWLING AND NOSE GEAR. MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL FOUND THE NOSE LANDING GEAR ACTUATOR ROD BENT AND A BENT BUNGEE THAT HOLDS TENSION ON THE NOSE LANDING GEAR. AFTER REPLACING OF THE PROPELLER AND ENSURING THE NOSE LANDING GEAR WAS LOCKED DOWN, THE AIRCRAFT WAS FLOWN BACK TO HOME BASE IN CANADA FOR FURTHER REPAIRS.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
