## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: PILOT ADVISED CID TOWER OF AN UNSAFE GEAR CONDITION AND MADE 2 ATTEMPTS THROUGH TOWER PERSONNEL TO VERIFY IF THE LANDING GEAR WAS DOWN AND LOCKED. TOWER PERSONNEL COULD NOT VERIFY GEAR POSITION. UPON LANDING, GEAR COLLAPSED RESULTING IN MINOR DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT. NTSB INVESTIGATOR AND MECHANIC DETERMINED THE CAUSE OF THE GEAR MALFUNCTION TO BE A FAULTY CENTER DRAG LINK BOLT. THIS CASE IS CONSIDERED CLOSED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
