## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: ON MONDAY, 09/09/96, AIRCRAFT N55KS, A LEAR 60 WAS STOPPING IN GRAND ISLAND, NE FOR FUEL. THE CREW MADE A NORMAL APPROACH AND A LANDING. DURING LANDING ROLLOUT THE TOWER NOTIFIED THE CREW THAT SMOKE AND FLAMES WERE COMING FROM THE RIGHT HAND LANDING GEAR AREA. THE CREW CLEARED THE RUNWAY AND STOPPED ON THE TAXIWAY TO DEPLANE PASSENGERS AND WAIT FOR EMERGENCY EQUIPMENT. WHEN EMERGENCY EQUIPMENT ARRIVED ALL THAT COULD BE SEEN WAS SMOKE COMING FROM THE TIRES. ALL FOUR TIRES WERE BLOWN. THE CREW HAD NO INDICATION OF PROBLEMS PRIOR TO LANDING. A COMPANY MECHANIC WAS DISPATCHED TO GRAND ISLAND, NE TO CHECK THE AIRCRAFT FOR DAMAGE AND REPLACE THE TIRES, WHEELS AND BRAKES. ASSOCIATED SYSTEMS WERE CHECKED AND LEAR TECHNICAL REPRESENTATIVES WERE CONSULTED. NO PROBLEMS WERE FOUND AND NO DISCREPANCIES WERE NOTED. MAINTENANCE SUSPECTS THE ANTI-SKID SYSTEM BUT COULD NOT CONFIRM AT THIS TIME. THIS INCIDENT IS CLOSED WITH THIS REPORT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
