## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: CAPTAIN STATED THAT DURING CLIMBING OUT FROM MEM THE CARGO SMOKE LIGHT INDICATOR CAME ON, AND WENT OFF, BUT CAME BACK ON WITHIN ONE TO TWO MINUTES. HE FIRED THE BOTTLE BUT LIGHT STAYED ON. HE WENT THROUGH THE EMERGENCY CHECKLIST, DECLARED AN EMERGENCY WITH ATC, CAPTAIN INFORMED THE FLIGHT ATTENDANT THAT HE WOULD DO AN EMERGENCY EVACUATION UPON LANDING. AFTER LANDING AND PASSENGERS WERE EVACUATED, THE AIRCRAFT WAS TAXIED TO THE HANGAR. MAINTENANCE DID NOT FIND ANY INDICATION OF A FIRE. ACTIVATION OF FIRE SMOKE LIGHT WAS DUE TO A FAULTY SENSOR.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
