## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: MR. COLLISON TELEPHONED THIS OFFICE IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE INCIDENT. HE ADVISED HE WAS PRACTICING TOUCH & GO'S AT THE EL DORADO, KANSAS AIRPORT IN A NEWLY ACQUIRED CESSNA 172N. IN HIS WORDS, "THE AIRCRAFT GROUND LOOPED." THE AIRCRAFT SUFFERED PROPELLER AND RIGHT WING DAMAGE. MR. COLLISON WAS PREPARING FOR A REEXAMINATION SCHEDULED WITH THIS OFFICE FOR THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 19, 1996. THE REQUEST FOR THE REEXAMINATION WAS FROM ASW-LIT-FSDO. MR COLLISON HAD LANDED HIS PA-28, N55369, AT A PRIVATE AIRPORT IN NORTH CENTRAL ARKANSAS ON JULY 17, 1996, WHICH RESULTED IN THE INABILITY TO STOP THE AIRPLANE WITHIN THE RUNWAY BOUNDARY (2000'). CONSEQUENTLY, THE AIRPLANE IMPACTED TREES AT THE END OF THE RUNWAY CAUSING SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE AIRPLANE. MR. COLLISON VISITED THIS OFFICE ON SEPTEMBER 19, 1996, AND VOLUNTARILY SURRENDERED HIS PRIVATE PILOT CERTIFICATE. NO FURTHER ACTION IS PLANNED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
