## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: ON SEPTEMBER 25, 1996, N143AM, BE-1900C WAS BEING OPERATED AS FLIGHT 5658 FROM KANSAS CITY, MO TO OMAHA, NE. DURING APPROACH THE NOSE LANDING GEAR DID NOT INDICATE DOWN AND LOCKED (GREEN LIGHT). THE CREW USED THE MANUAL PROCEDURES TO ENSURE THE GEAR WAS DOWN AND LOCKED. THE AIRCRAFT LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT. THE AIRCRAFT WAS FERRIED TO KANSAS CITY, MO WHERE COMPANY MECHANICS FOUND A BROKEN WIRE LEADING TO THE NOSE GEAR DOWN LOCK SWITCH. THIS INCIDENT IS CLOSED WITH THIS REPORT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
