## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB LAX97LA010](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/LAX97LA010), Oct 8, 1996: Texas Helicopter OH-13E (N51582), Santa Rita, CA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's inadequate preflight inspection of the helicopter.

## Other reports on N51582 (1)

- [Incident 19880219015629I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19880219015629I), Feb 19, 1988: Cessna 172P (N51582), Grand Forks, ND, Minor damage. Pilot discharged passengers. Restarted engine to reposition on main ramp. Wind gust flipped aircraft upside down.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
