## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: ON APPROACH FOR LANDING OVER AN OBSTACLE, MR. ROSSEN'S BALLOON CAME IN CONTACT WITH A SINGLE STRAND POWER LINE WHICH HAD BEEN STRUNG BETWEEN POLES 560 FEET APART. BOTH POLES WERE IN WOODED AREAS AND WERE NOT VISIBLE FROM THE BALLOON. HE AND OTHER BALLOONS WERE LANDING INTO THE SETTING SUN WHICH MADE IT VERY DIFFICULT TO SEE THE WIRE. OTHER PILOTS ON APPROACH BEHIND MR. ROSSEN STATED THEY HAD NOT SEEN THE WIRE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO THE BALLOON OR PROPERTY ON THE SURFACE. THIS INCIDENT OCCURRED AT THE CONCLUSION OF A HARE AND HOUND EVENT. THE FILING OF THIS REPORT CLOSES THIS INCIDENT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
