## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: ACCORDING TO THE OWNER/PILOT, VERNON DAVIS, WHILE ENROUTE FROM EUGENE, OR. TO CARSON CITY, NV. WEATHER CONDITIONS FORCED HIM TO ALTER COURSE. IT STARTED TO GET DARKER AND MR. DAVIS DECIDED TO MAKE A PRECAUTIONARY LANDING. MR. DAVIS COULD NOT LOCATE THE AIRPORT AT EMPIRE, NV. (1A8) SO HE WAITED UNTIL THE HIGHWAY WAS CLEAR, THEN LANDED. DURING LANDING THE AIRCRAFT GROUND-LOOPED CAUSING MINOR DAMAGE TO THE RIGHT WING TIP AND RIGHT MAIN GEAR. THE TAIL WHEEL WENT INTO MUD CAUSING MINOR DAMAGE. NO INJURIES OR FIRE. NO FURTHER ACTION WAS REQUIRED. THIS REPORT IS CLOSED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
