## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: AIRCRAFT DEPARTED DIXON, WY (9U4) FOR SHORT LOCAL AREA SIGHTSEEING FLIGHT. AFTER THE TAKEOFF, PIC HEARD A "POP", MADE A COUPLE OF PASSES OVER THE AIRPORT. PIC SAW HIS BROTHER, WHO WAS ON THE GROUND, SIGNAL THAT SOMETHING WAS WRONG. PIC WAS UNABLE TO GET THE LANDING GEAR DOWN AND DECIDED TO LAND AT HDN DUE TO THEIR EMERGENCY EQUIPMENT AVAILABILITY. PIC RADIOED TO THE HDN FBO TO CHECK HIS LANDING GEAR WHEN HE DID A FLY-BY. FBO CONFIRMED THAT THE NOSE GEAR WAS NOT DOWN. PIC LANDED THE AIRCRAFT ON THE MAIN GEAR, WHICH WERE DOWN AND LOCKED. HE SHUT DOWN BOTH ENGINES JUST PRIOR TO TOUCHDOWN, AVOIDING SUDDEN STOPPAGE TO THE ENGINES AT TOUCHDOWN. DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT WAS MINIMAL, BUT BOTH PROPELLERS WERE SUBSTANTIALLY DAMAGED. AIRCRAFT FUSELAGE DAMAGE WAS CONFINED TO SKIN DAMAGE TO THE NOSE OF THE AIRCRAFT. THE ELT DID NOT ACTIVATE. NO FURTHER ACTION TAKEN.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
