## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: ON OCTOBER 31, 1996, AT 1945 HOURS, N4405X, WAS MAKING A NIGHT FLIGHT FROM LONG BEACH (LGB) TO RIVERSIDE (RAL), WITH PALERMO GABRIEL AS PILOT IN COMMAND. DURING HIS TAKE OFF ROLL AT LGB THE LANDING LIGHT BECAME INOPERATIVE. ON ARRIVAL AT RAL, AND WHILE ATTEMPTING TO TAXI TO PARKING, HE DISCOVERED THE TAXIWAY LIGHTS WERE OUT OF SERVICE. ALTHOUGH HE ATTEMPTED TO USE A HAND HELD FLASHLIGHT FOR GUIDANCE, HIS RIGHT FLAP CONTACTED A TAXIWAY LIGHT BOX AND THE PROPELLER STRUCK AN ASPHALT BERM. THIS CAUSED MINOR DAMAGE TO THE LIGHT BOX, FLAP, AND THE PROPELLER. THIS INCIDENT IS CLOSED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
