## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: THE PILOT HAD A PROBLEM OF GETTING THE GEAR DOWN. THE PILOT IN FLIGHT TALKED TO A MECHANIC ON THE GROUND FOR 45 MINUTES TRYING TO SOLVE THE GEAR PROBLEM. THE PROBLEM COULD NOT BE CORRECTED IN FLIGHT. THE PILOT LANDED GEAR UP ON RWY 31 AT LA CROSSE, WI WITH ONLY MINOR DAMAGE. THE GEAR BOX WAS LOCKED UP PREVENTING THE EXTENSION OF LANDING GEAR, A FURTHER INSPECTION WILL BE DONE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE MALFUNCTION AND WILL BE REPORTED ON A M OR D.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
