THE PILOT STATED THE AIRPLANE EXPERIENCED A POWER LOSS, AND AIRSPEED DEGENERATION. THE PILOT EXPLAINED THAT THE AIRSPEED DECAYED FROM 105 TO 80 KNOTS. HE SAID, I PUSHED THE NOSE OVER TO AVOID A STALL "AND SUBSEQUENTLY" SPOTTED THE RUNWAY, I KNEW WE WERE TOO FAR DOWN. I DECIDED I WOULD RATHER LAND LONG "THAN CONTINUE AND CHANCE UNCERTAIN TERRAIN BEYOND THE AIRPORT. HE SAID THE AIRPLANE WAS HYDROPLANING ALL THE WAY DOWN THE RUNWAY AND CONTINUED OF THE END IMPACTING THE LOCALIZER SUPPORT SYSTEM. THE PILOT JOHN MANERA AND WIFE JONI MANERA HAD SERIOUS INJURIES AND WERE ADMITTED TO RHODE ISLAND HOSPITAL. THE 5 MONTH OLD INFANT WAS UNINJURED. A FULL PERFORMANCE RUN WAS NOT POSSIBLE BECAUSE OF THE CONDITION OF THE AIRCRAFT. A FORMAL ATC PACKAGE HAS BEEN ORDERED AND WILL BE FORWARDED TO NTSB.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
