## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: 11/08/96, 08:49 LOCAL, US AIR FLIGHT 1758 INBOUND INTO RIC DEVELOPED A RIGHT ENGINE VIBRATION. THE FLIGHT CREW PULLED THE POWER BACK TO IDLE, AIRCRAFT LANDED ON RUNWAY 16 WITHOUT EVENT. THE ENGINE WAS SHUT DOWN AND THE AIRCRAFT TAXIED TO THE RAMP. US AIR MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL INSPECTED THE ENGINE AND FOUND A REAR TURBINE FAILURE (CONTAINED). THE ENGINE WAS REPLACED AT RICHMOND, NTSB NOTIFIED. PMI WAS NOTIFIED THAT THE ENGINE ONLY HAD 180 HOURS/TSO (TIME SINCE OVERHAUL) PRIOR TO THIS INCIDENT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
