## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: AIRCRAFT LANDED WITHOUT CONTACTING THE TOWER. AN ATC EMPLOYEE APPROACHED THE PILOT AFTER PARKING. IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE PILOT TRANSMITTED ON THE WRONG FREQUENCY AND GOT NO RESPONSE. THE PILOT THOUGHT THE TOWER WAS CLOSED AND REPORTED THE DOWNWIND BASE AND FINAL LEGS AND LANDED. THE ATC EMPLOYEE GAVE THE PILOT THE CORRECT FREQUENCIES AND HE LATER DEPARTED WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. I COUNSELED THE PILOT IN THE AREAS OF PRE-FLIGHT PLANNING, ATC PROCEDURES AND NIGHT OPERATIONS SPECIFICALLY FOR LCK AIRPORT. HE DEMONSTRATED AN EXCELLENT ATTITUDE AND SAID HE'D LEARNED FROM THIS INCIDENT SO AS NOT TO REPEAT IT. AIRMAN COMPETENCY IS APPLICABLE SIMPLY BECAUSE HE TUNED THE WRONG FREQUENCY. A VIOLATION OF FAR 91.103 EXISTS BECAUSE THE PILOT DID NOT KNOW FOR CERTAIN THE HOURS OF OPERATION OF LCK TOWER. THERE ARE SEVERAL PUBLICATIONS AVAILABLE CONTAINING THIS INFO.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
