## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: THE PILOT ENGAGED THE AUTOPILOT AFTER TAKEOFF FROM BINGHAMTON, NY WHILE CLIMBING TO 17,000 FT IN VMC. AFTER REACHING 17,999 FT. THE AUTOPILOT DISCONNECTED, WAS RESET, AND DISCONNECTED AGAIN FOR UNKNOWN REASONS. SHORTLY THEREAFTER, THE INTERIOR LIGHTS WENT OUT AS ALL ELECTRICAL POWER WAS LOST. THE PILOT DOES NOT REMEMBER ANY ANNUNCIATOR LIGHTS ON BEFORE THE POWER WENT OFF. WHILE OPERATING LANDING AT ALBANY, NY. RATHER THAN TRYING TO RESET THE GENERATORS, THE PILOT ELECTED TO USE EMERGENCY PROCEDURES FOR LANDING GEAR EXTENSION. AN UNEVENTFUL LANDING WAS MADE AT ALBANY. AFTER LANDING, THE GENERATORS WERE RESET AND THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM APPEARED TO WORK NORMALLY. MAINTENANCE CHECKED THE SYSTEM AND FOUND A FAULTY AMMETER SELECT SWITCH. NO OTHER DISCREPANCIES WERE NOTED. THIS MATTER IS CLOSED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
