## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: THE PILOT STATED THAT THE AIRCRAFT EXPERIENCED ENGINE ROUGHNESS. HE ATTEMPTED TO PULL THE CARB HEAT WITH NO SUCCESS. THE ENGINE STUTTERED AND EXPERIENCED LOSS OF RPM. THE AIRCRAFT LATER GAINED RPM SO THE PILOT TRIED TO MAKE THE AIRPORT BUT DECIDED TO LAND ON THE GOLF COURSE FAIRWAY. INVESTIGATION REVEALED THAT THE ENGINE WAS STOPPED DURING LANDING. THE GOLF COURSE TEE BOX WAS STRUCK BY THE AIRCRAFT, BROKE OUT NOSE STRUT, ONE END OF BLADE WAS BENT BACK, AND THE RIGHT OUTBOARD WING PANEL WAS CRINKLED. THE IMPACT BROKE THE INTAKE PIPER WHERE CARB WAS ATTACHED. AUTO GAS WAS BEING BURNED. FOUR GALLONS OF FUEL DRAINED FROM THE AIRCRAFT. THE PILOT OPERATING HANDBOOK STATES THAT 3.5 GALLONS UNUSABLE. NO WATER OR CONTAMINATION WAS VISIBLE. ACTUAL FUEL LOADED WAS INDETERMINABLE DUE TO NO RECORDS OF FLIGHT TIME AND FUELING. OWNER STATED THAT HE FUELED THE AIRCRAFT WITH THREE FIVE-GALLON CANS. HE HAD APPROXIMATELY THREE GALLONS LEFT IN ONE OF THE CANS. THE OWNER FLEW FOR APPROXIMATELY .7 HOURS THEN LANDED AND POURED THE REMAINING 3 GALLONS INTO THE AIRCRAFT. THE OWNER AGAIN FLEW ANOTHER 1.7 HOURS BEFORE THE INCIDENT FLIGHT WAS CONDUCTED BY ANOTHER PILOT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
