## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: AIRCRAFT TOOK OFF FROM RUNWAY 30 AT WDG ENROUTE TO NEVADA. AFTER GEAR UP AND ABOUT 50' AGL, A POWER LOSS OCCURRED. PILOT DECLARED AN EMERGENCY AND ATTEMPTED TO CIRCLE THE AIRPORT AND LAND. HE STATES HE DIDN'T HAVE ENOUGH POWER TO GO AROUND THE PATTERN, SO HE ATTEMPTED A TEAR DROP BACK TO RUNWAY 12 (DOWNWIND) AND WHILE TURNING TO LINE UP ON 12 THE LEFT WINGTIP HIT THE RUNWAY AND THE AIRCRAFT BOUNCED (GEAR UP) OFF THE RUNWAY INTO THE GRASS AREA ADJACENT TO THE RUNWAY AND THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO AN ABRUPT STOP. THE PILOT WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL HOSPITAL FOR EXAMINATION AND X-RAYS. NO INJURIES WERE NOTED SO HE WAS RELEASED. HE RETURNED TO THE AIRPORT AND ENLISTED HELP TO MOVE THE AIRCRAFT. THEY LIFTED THE AIRCRAFT, HE PUT THE GEAR DOWN AND LOCKED, AND THEN PULLED IT TO A HANGAR WHERE IT WAS SECURED. MINOR DAMAGE TO PROP, LOWER ENGINE COWL AND LEFT WINGTIP. PILOT/OWNER BELIEVES THAT POWER LOSS MAY BE ATTRIBUTED TO FUEL CONTAMINATION FROM THE MATERIAL USED TO MAKE THE FUEL CELL.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
