## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: PILOT CALLED FAI FSDO ON 11/26/96 @ 08:30. HE EXPLAINED THAT ON TAKE-OFF FROM NOME CITY FIELD (94Z) AT 1230L ON MONDAY 11/25/96 RUNWAY 21, THE AIRCRAFT RIGHT SKI HIT A SNOW BERM AS IT WAS LIFTING OFF. AN INFLIGHT VISUAL INSPECTION WAS MADE WITH NO DAMAGE VISIBLE. CONTINUED TO DESTINATION (WMO) AT WHITE MOUNTAIN ON LANDING THE RIGHT SKI COLLAPSED CAUSING THE RIGHT WING TIP TO CONTACT THE RUNWAY AND THE PROPELLER TO STRIKE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. POST FLIGHT CHECK REVEALED THAT THE SKI ATTACH BOLT HAD SHEARED ALLOWING THE SKI TO COLLAPSE. MINOR DAMAGE TO WING & PROP CHANGE NEEDED. MECHANIC DISPATCHED FROM NOME TO INSPECT DAMAGE AND READY AIRCRAFT FOR FERRY FLIGHT TO NOME (OME). CORRECTIVE ACTION ATTACHED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
