## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-16) DUE TO THE LOCATION OF THE AIRCRAFT AND CURRENT WEATHER CONDITIONS, NEITHER THE NTSB OR FAA HAS BEEN ABLE TO VISIT THE ACCIDENT SCENE. PILOT'S BODY WAS REMOVED FROM THE WRECKAGE BY THE SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT, AND THEY REPORTED THAT THE AIRCRAFT WAS FOUND TO BE INTACT. SNOW CONDITIONS HAVE SINCE COVERED THE AIRCRAFT, AND RECOVERY ATTEMPT DATE IS UNKNOWN AT THIS TIME. UPDATE TO FOLLOW AS INVESTIGATION PERMITS.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB SEA97FA033](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/SEA97FA033), Dec 8, 1996: Beech B36TC (N3000R), Jackson, WY, substantial damage, 1 fatal. Probable cause: failure of the pilot to follow IFR procedures. High terrain, low ceiling, icing conditions, and a possible anomaly with the VOR were related factors.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
