## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: PILOT ROBERT CANNON CERTIFICATE NO. 563688658 (PRIVATE PILOT) MADE SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO GET THE NOSE GEAR DOWN AND LOCKED FOR LANDING AT TRUCKEE, CA AIRPORT (TRK) AFTER A DETERMINATION WAS MADE THAT THE GEAR WOULD NOT LOWER ITSELF, HE ELECTED TO LAND WITH THE NOSE GEAR RETRACTED IN THE WHEEL WELL. HE STATED THAT HE WAS ABLE TO KEEP THE NOSE UP DURING THE INITIAL ROLL OUT AND ONLY MINOR DAMAGE WAS DONE TO THE AIRCRAFT PROPELLER AND AIRFRAME. THE FLIGHT ORIGINATED AT CAMARILLO, CA AND TERMINATED AT TRUCKEE, CA AIRPORT. THERE WERE SEVERAL WITNESSES WHO GAVE A SIMILAR ACCOUNT OF HIS VERSION OF THE INCIDENT. THE AIRCRAFT HAS BEEN MOVED TO TODD AVIATION AT TRUCKEE AIRPORT (FBO). THERE WAS ONE PASSENGER ON BOARD THE AIRCRAFT AND HE SUFFERED NO INJURIES. INSPECTOR, BEN HENDERSON, PERFORMED AN INSPECTION OF THE GEAR AT TODD AVIATION AND FOUND IT TO BE IN THE DOWN AND LOCKED POSITION, HOWEVER, THE ACTUATOR ROD WAS BENT. THIS INVESTIGATION IS CLOSED. INCIDENT DOES NOT INVOLVE A PILOT DEVIATION REPORT FORM 8020-17.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
