## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRCRAFT BOUNCED OFF RUNWAY ON LANDING AND CRASHED ON TAXIWAY. (-23) WHILE ATTEMPTING A FULL STOP LANDING AT IPJ, THE PILOT STATED THAT AT TOUCH DOWN THE AIRPLANE BOUNCED AND THEN BECAME AIRBORNE AND THEN BOUNCED AGAIN. THE PILOT THOUGHT THAT THE AIRPLANE WOULD START TO PORPOISE, SO SHE ATTEMPTED A "BALKED LANDING" GO AROUND. THE PILOT APPLIED FULL POWER AT WHICH TIME THE NOSE OF THE AIRPLANE PITCHED UP TO 45 DEGREES. THE RIGHT WING DROPPED AND THE AIRPLANE STALLED TO THE RIGHT. THE AIRPLANE TRAVELED TO THE RIGHT OF THE RUNWAY WHEN IT COLLIDED WITH THE STONE AND CONCRETE SUPPORT FOR THE RUNWAY 23 AIRPORT SIGN. THE AIRPLANE ROTATED COUNTER CLOCKWISE AND CAME TO REST ON THE PARALLEL TAXIWAY. THE PILOT STATED THAT SHE FELT THE AIRPLANE STALLED BECAUSE SHE FAILED TO RAISE THE FLAPS DURING THE GO AROUND.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB MIA97LA061](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/MIA97LA061), Jan 14, 1997: Beech C23 (N2236L), Lincolnton, NC, substantial damage. Probable cause: The student pilot's improper use of flaps and failure to maintain airspeed during a go-around.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
