## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: THE PILOT STATED; DEPARTED YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO WITH FULL FUEL. I WAS TRYING TO FIND CLARION AIRPORT USING VOR, DME AND RADIO. WHILE TALKING TO CLARION UNICOM - REALIZED THAT NAV AND COM - RADIOS DID NOT WORK AND FUEL GAUGES SHOWED LOW FUEL. MADE PRECAUTIONARY LANDING INFIELD. AM AIR, INC., OWNER OF AIRCRAFT N98125, MECHANIC MR. HOWARD PORTZER, STATED THAT THE POST ON THE ALTERNATOR BECAME LOOSE AND BURNED OFF, LEAVING ONLY BATTERY POWER. INVESTIGATION OF THIS INCIDENT CONFIRMS THAT THE AIRCRAFT LOST ELECTRIC POWER AND PILOT ELECTED TO MAKE AN OFF-AIRPORT LANDING DUE TO THE FUEL GAUGES SHOWING NEARLY EMPTY. NO INJURY OR DAMAGE OCCURRED. SUBMISSION OF THIS REPORT CLOSES THIS INCIDENT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
