## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: ON 1/15/97 AT 12:45 PM EST A CESSNA 182Q, N4853N, DIVERTED TO SYR AND LANDED ON RUNWAY 10 AFTER REPORTING A LOW OIL PRESSURE INDICATION. THE AIRCRAFT LANDED AND TAXIED TO THE RAMP WITHOUT INCIDENT. VISUAL METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS PREVAILED AT THE TIME AND A VFR FLIGHT PLAN WAS FILED. THE FLIGHT ORIGINATED AT MYERSTOWN, PA. SYRACUSE EXECUTIVE AIR SERVICE FOUND THE OIL FILTER ADAPTER LEAKING AT THE BASE. THEY REMOVED IT, INSTALLED NEW "O" RINGS, AND REPLACED THE ADAPTER. THEY ALSO INSTALLED A NEW CHAMPION OIL FILTER AND SERVICED THE SYSTEM WITH 8 QTS. OF OIL. THEY RAN THE ENGINE AND FOUND NO LEAKS. AIRCRAFT WAS RETURNED TO SERVICE. THIS INCIDENT IS CONSIDERED CLOSED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
