## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: PILOT TOOK OFF AND WENT AROUND THE TRAFFIC PATTERN ONCE AND LANDED. AIRCRAFT PITOT SYSTEM WAS BLOCKED BY NEWLY INSTALLED FLIP-UP COVER WHICH DID NOT FLIP UP. WITH NO AIRSPEED AVAILABLE, LANDING WAS HARD AND GUY WIRE ON LEFT SIDE AMPHIBIOUS FLOAT SEPARATED. AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST ON LEFT WING TIP WHICH SHOWED ALMOST NO ATTACH STRUT WAS DAMAGED AS A RESULT OF TORSION AFTER GUY WIRE SEPARATED. STRUT WIRE APPEARS TO BE 3/32" DIAMETER INSTEAD OF RECOMMENDED 1/8" DIAMETER.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
