## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT WAS LANDING ON A PRIVATE STRIP. DURING THE ROLL OUT ON THE DOG LEGGED STRIP, THE LEFT MAIN LANDING GEAR HIT A DIRT BERM. THE LEFT MAIN GEAR, THE LEFT WING, AND THE FUSELAGE WERE SUBSTANTIALLY DAMAGED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB FTW97LA093](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/FTW97LA093), Jan 22, 1997: Cessna 180K (N19694), Valentine, TX, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to attain the proper touchdown point, and the excessive airspeed during the approach and landing. A factor was the dirt bank paralleling the airstrip.

## Other reports on N19694 (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 19810801062789I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19810801062789I), Aug 1, 1981: Cessna 180K (N19694), Santa Fe, NM, Minor damage. Pilot lost control on landing. Aircraft nosed up off side of runway. Enforcement in process.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
