## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: A NATIONSBANK GA-IV-SP IN ROUTE TO DCA DIVERTED TO ID WITH A NOSE LANDING GEAR THAT WOULD NOT EXTEND. SEVERAL ATTEMPTS WERE MADE TO EXTEND THE NOSE GEAR AND THE EMERGENCY EXTENSION WAS TRIED WITH NO SUCCESS. AT 1834EST THE NOSE GEAR UP LANDING WAS MADE AT IAD WITH MINIMAL DAMAGE TO THE NOSE GEAR, THE NOSE GEAR DOORS, THE NOSE STEERING DAMPER AND THE RADOME. UPON INSPECTION OF THE NOSE GEAR WHEEL WELL AREA, AN ICE ACCUMULATION WAS NOTED AROUND THE UPLOCK ROLLER ASSEMBLY. THE AIRCRAFT WAS REMOVED FROM RUNWAY 1R TO THE MOBILE HANGER AT DULLES WHERE TEMPORARY REPAIRS WERE MADE TO FERRY THE AIRCRAFT TO SAVANNAH, GA. GULFSTREAM HEADQUARTERS FOR REPAIRS AND A CONCLUSIVE DETERMINATION FOR THE NOSE GEAR FAILURE. A REPORT WILL BE SENT TO THIS OFFICE BY MR. MARK BURNS WITH FINAL CORRECTIVE ACTIONS AND REPAIRS. SEE ATTACHMENTS OF PILOT STATEMENTS AND FACTORY FIELD SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
