## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: WHILE CONDUCTING PILOT RECURRENCY TRAINING ON FEB. 6, 1997 AT 1415 HRS A STATE POLICE HELICOPTER, BELL 206 B III MADE A MODERATE HARD LANDING DURING THE FLARE TO LEVEL-OFF CONFIGURATION OF A TOUCHDOWN 180 DEGREES AUTO ROTATION. THESE OPERATIONS WERE BEING CONDUCTED AT LA REGIONAL AIRPORT IN GONZALES, LA WITH THE PROPOSED TARGET TOUCHDOWN AREA BEING THE 1ST 1/3 OF THE TAXIWAY, PARALLEL TO THE RUNWAY.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
