## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-5) RECEIVED PHONE CALL FROM MR. MANNY GROVA, JR., THAT AIRCRAFT PART WAS FOUND ON PROPERTY AT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ ON FEBRUARY 8, 1997. THE PANEL ASSEMBLY WAS IDENTIFIED AS A RIGHT HAND COWLING PANEL WITH PART NUMBER 65-47971-2. THIS PANEL IS FOR A B-737-100 SERIES. AT THIS TIME THIS OFFICE HAS NOT IDENTIFIED THE PARTICULAR AIRCRAFT "N" NUMBER OR PARTICULAR OWNER OF AIRCRAFT. A CHECK OF AIR CARRIERS AT NEWARK INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, NONE REPORTED INSTALLING THIS PANEL IN THIS TIME FRAME OF FEBRUARY 7TH THROUGH PRESENT TIME. THIS INCIDENT IS CLOSED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
