## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: NOSE GEAR WOULD NOT EXTEND UPON APPROACH TO PBI. PIC MADE SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO LOWER NOSE GEAR TO NO AVAIL. PIC ATTEMPTED TO "BOUNCE" AIRCRAFT TO DISLODGE NOSE GEAR, BUT STRUCK PROP ON RUNWAY, FORCING A LANDING WITH THE NOSE GEAR UP, AND CAUSING MINOR DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT. INVESTIGATION DISCLOSED P/N 1270034-1 SAFETY SWITCH WAS DEFECTIVE, COMPOUNDED BY A LOW-CHARGE IN THE NOSE STRUT. THIS COMBINATION ALLOWED THE NOSE GEAR TO RETRACT AND BE POSITIONED OUT OF SEQUENCE WITH THE NOSE DOOR ACTUATOR ARM. THIS ARM PREVENTED THE GEAR FROM LOWERING. AN M & D REPORT WAS FILED ON THIS CONDITION.
