## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: (PILOT STATEMENT) DURING STARTING OF THE RIGHT ENGINE ON N4641A, I NOTICED AN INITIAL STACK FIRE, WHICH WAS EXTINGUISHED WITHIN 2-3 SECONDS AFTER THE RIGHT ENGINE STARTED. WHEN I LOOKED UP, I SAW RAMP PERSONNEL MOTIONING FOR ME TO GET OUT OF THE PLANE, SO I SHUT DOWN THE ENGINE AND ALL SWITCHES AND GOT OUT OF THE AIRPLANE. AS I WAS EXITING THE CARGO DOOR OF THE AIRCRAFT, I NOTICED FLAMES AND BLACK SMOKE COMING FROM THE UNDERNEATH OF THE FUSELAGE. I THEN SAW RAMP PERSONNEL ALREADY EXTINGUISHED THE FLAMES WHICH WERE EXTINGUISED WITHIN 30 SECONDS OF INITIAL START OF FIRE. AT THIS POINT, I ALSO NOTICED A STREAM OF FUEL POURING OUT OF THE RIGHT TANK VENT OVERFLOW. AFTER THE FLAMES WERE EXTINGUISHED, ANOTHER 30 SECONDS PASSED BEFORE FUEL STOPPED POURING OUT ONTO THE RAMP. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL ARE INVESTIGATING.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
