## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: PILOT MADE AN EMERGENCY LANDING ON AN EMPTY GOLF COURSE PARKING LOT WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT AFTER LOSING ENGINE POWER AT 2300 FEET CRUISE. ON 3/13/97, CONDUCTED A POST-INCIDENT ENGINE RUN TEST AT THE AIRCRAFT'S BASED REPAIR STATION, NORTHEAST AVIATION, CRAIG AIRPORT, JACKSONVILLE, FL. THE ENGINE RUN TEST REVEALED THAT AT APPROXIMATELY 1500 RPMS ENGINE LOST POWER, SUGGESTING AN ANOMALY WITH THE CARBURETOR. A LATER ANALYSIS OF THE CARBURETOR BY NORTHEAST AVIATION REVEALED FUEL RESIDUE IN THE CARBURETOR'S BOWL. THE CARBURETOR WAS REPLACED, ENGINE TESTED NORMAL AND AIRCRAFT RETURNED TO SERVICE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
