## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: ON MARCH 13, 1997, N956S, A CESSNA MODEL 500, WHILE ON A FUNCTIONAL TEST FLIGHT LANDED WITH THE NOSE GEAR IN THE UP POSITION AT GARNER MUNICIPAL AIRPORT, UVALDE, TEXAS. VISUAL METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS PREVAILED AT THE TIME. NO FLIGHT PLAN WAS FILED, NO INJURIES, NO FIRE OR PROPERTY DAMAGE. INVESTIGATION REVEALED THAT THE RIGHT NOSE GEAR DOOR WAS LEFT DISCONNECTED FROM THE REAR HINGE ATTACH POINT AND TAPED IN THE CLOSED POSITION. PREFLIGHT INSPECTION FAILED TO OBSERVE THIS FUNCTION. THIS OFFICE CONSIDERS THIS INCIDENT CLOSED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
