## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: AFTER TAKE-OFF AND SUBSEQUENT LEVEL-OFF FOR TEST FLIGHT OF EXPERIMENTAL CLASS YAKOVLEV 9, THE PIC NOTED OIL PRESSURE STARTING TO DROP OFF. PIC REPORTED THROTTLE BACK AND MADE PRECAUTIONARY LANDING AT THE FIRST UNINHABITED FLAT TERRAIN AREA, AN EMPTY FIELD. NO INJURIES TO SOLE OCCUPANT AND NO PROPERTY DAMAGE. IT WAS NOTED THAT THERE WAS SCRATCH ON THE LEFT LANDING GEAR DOOR, BUT IT COULD NOT BE CONFIRMED THAT IT WAS A RESULT OF THIS LANDING. NO OTHER DAMAGE TO AIRCRAFT WAS NOTED. UPON TEARDOWN AND INVESTIGATION THE MECHANIC DISCOVERED A BROKEN OIL COOLER LINE FITTING FLANGE. THIS FLANGE IS MANUFACTURED AS A PART OF THE OIL COOLER. THE MECHANIC SUBMITTED A MALFUNCTION AND DEFECT (M&D) REPORT AND FORWARDED TO AFS-643.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
