## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: ON APRIL 14, 1997, N4095V WAS ENROUTE TO CASPER, WYOMING WHEN THE METERING PIN IN THE SHOCK STRUT SEPARATED AT THE UPPER METERING HOLE. THIS ALLOWED THE GEAR TO EXTEND BEYOND THE WHEELWELL AREA, PREVENTING THE LEFT MAIN GEAR TO EXTEND. PILOT LANDED AIRCRAFT SAFELY, BOTH ENGINES WERE SHUTDOWN AND PROP BLADES WERE IN THE FEATHER POSITION. MIS AND M OR D REPORTS ARE IN PROGRESS. THIS IS A FINAL REPORT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
