## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: ON APRIL, 1997, AT APPROXIMATELY 15:00 CDT, MR. PETER FITZGERALD, HOLDER OF PILOT CERTIFICATE NUMBER 105401131, WAS PILOT IN COMMAND OF A BEECHCRAFT A-36 BONANZA, N17987. MR. FITZGERALD'S AIRCRAFT AMPERE METER DISPLAYED A DISCHARGE AND THE RADIOS BEGAN TO FAIL. APPROXIMATELY 10 MILES FROM AUSTIN MUELLER AIRPORT, MR. FITZGERALD SELECTED THE LANDING GEAR HANDLE TO THE DOWN POSITION, AT WHICH TIME THE AIRCRAFT LOST ALL ELECTRICAL POWER AND THAT HE FELT DRAG. MR. FITZGERALD THEN PROCEEDED TO LAND ON RUNWAY 13L AT AUSTIN MUELLER AIRPORT WITHOUT REFERENCING THE AIRCRAFT'S EMERGENCY GEAR EXTENSION PROCEDURES. MR. FITZGERALD WAS VERY COOPERATIVE DURING THE INITIAL INTERVIEW. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
