## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: ON MARCH 29TH, 1997, N691RT A CESSNA 421 ON DEPARTURE FROM CHERAW, SC AIRPORT (47J), INDICATED AN UNSAFE LEFT MAIN LANDING GEAR. THE AIRCRAFT RETURNED TO 47J, AND UPON LANDING THE LEFT MAIN LANDING GEAR TURNED 90 DEGREES. THE AIRCRAFT REMAINED ON THE RUNWAY DURING THE LANDING. AN INSPECTION OF THE LEFT MAIN LANDING GEAR INDICATED THE SCISSORS PIVOT BOLT HAD PULLED THRU THE BUSHING. DAMAGE WAS LIMITED TO THE TIRE, WHEEL AND BRAKE DISK.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
