## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: ON MAY 6, 1997, AT APPROXIMATELY 1020 EDT, A MU-300, N88ME, OPERATED BY AERODYNAMICS, INC., HAD AN UNSAFE LANDING GEAR WARNING ON APPROACH TO ROCHESTER, NY. AN EMERGENCY CHECKLIST WAS ACCOMPLISHED RESULTING IN A GEAR SAFE INDICATION (GEAR DOWN AND LOCKED). THE AIRCRAFT LANDED WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. INSTRUMENT METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS PREVAILED, AND AN IFR FLIGHT PLAN WAS FILED. THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT OR INJURIES TO PERSONNEL. THE AIRCRAFT WAS TOWED TO THE U.S. AIRPORTS HANGAR WHERE JET AVIATION MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL SERVICED THE EMERGENCY GEAR NITROGEN AND SIGNED OFF THE LOGBOOK AS SAFE FOR FLIGHT. THE AIRCRAFT WAS FERRIED, FLYING GEAR DOWN, BACK TO PONTIAC, MICHIGAN. ADI REPAIR SHOP IN WATERFORD, MI FOUND A BROKEN RELEASE CABLE AT THE LEFT MAIN GEAR DOOR. THE CABLE WAS REPLACED AND THE AIRCRAFT WAS RETURNED TO SERVICE ON MAY 7, 1997. THIS INCIDENT IS CONSIDERED CLOSED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
