## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: ON 05/08/97,^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ AIR TRANSPORT PILOT (ATP)^PRIVACY DATA OM^DEPARTED MONROE, MI, (TTF) AT 0135, EDT IN A PIPER (PA-60), N160GA, SER #60-0021-50 ENROUTE TO LOUISVILLE, KY (SDF) FOR A FAR 91 REPOSITIONING FLIGHT. THE AIRCRAFT IS OPERATED BY GRAND AIRE, A 14CFR 135 CARGO OPERATOR, CERT #GXPA543E. AT 0150 EDT, 6 NM NORTH OF FINDLAY, OH MR. SWEENEY STATED THAT THE RIGHT ENGINE QUIT, HE THEN LANDED ON RUNWAY 18 AT FINDLAY, OH (FDY). DURING LANDING ROLLOUT THE NOSE WHEEL COLLAPSED AND THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED MINOR DAMAGE AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES. SUBSEQUENT INSPECTION OF N160GA BY ASI JAY C. WILKINS OF THE CMH FSDO DISCOVERED THAT THE RIGHT MAGNETO APPARENTLY SEIZED AND THIS CAUSED THE ENGINE TO QUIT. ADDITIONALLY, THE NOSEWHEEL HAD NOT BEEN LOCKED OVER CENTER BECAUSE THE RIGHT ENGINE OPERATES THE ONLY HYDRAULIC PUMP.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
