## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: WHILE ATTEMPTING TO LAND ON RUNWAY 24 AT THE ABINGDON, VIRGINIA (VJI)AIRPORT, BEECH BONANZA, N6689J PILOTED BY J.M. DUNCAN, ENCOUNTERED WIND GUSTS WHICH MOMENTARILY CAUSED THE AIRCRAFT TO BECOME AIRBORNE AND DRIFT OFF TO THE LEFT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY AND INTO THE GRASS. THE AIRCRAFT CONTINUED TO TAXI IN THE GRASS UP TO THE RAMP AREA. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO TAXI ONTO THE ASPHALT, THE NOSE GEAR STRUCK THE SHOULDER OF THE ASPHALT RAMP AND COLLAPSED, CAUSING MINOR DAMAGE BUT NO INJURIES TO THE OCCUPANTS. THE AIRCRAFT REMAINED AT THE VJI AIRPORT PENDING REPAIRS. SUBMISSION OF THIS REPORT CLOSES THIS INCIDENT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
