## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: PILOT REPORTED UNSAFE GEAR INDICATION TO TOWER.. HE THEN FOLLOWED EMERGENCY GEAR PROCEDURE AND MADE A FLY-BY. TOWER SAID GEAR APPEARED DOWN. ON LANDING ROLL OUT LEFT MAIN GEAR COLLAPSED, CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE LEFT HAND PROP, WING TIP TRAILING EDGE, GEAR DOOR, AILERON AND FLAP TRAILING EDGES. THERE IS ALSO A DENT IN THE LEADING EDGE, AND UNDER SIDE OF WING CAUSED BY A RUNWAY LIGHT. ON SITE EXAMINATION REVEALED THAT THE LEFT HAND GEAR EXTENSION RETRACTION TUBE ASSEMBLY P/N 0840125-XX HAD FAILED. IT FAILED ON THE END THAT ATTACHES TO THE GEAR DOWN LOCK ASSEMBLY. IT IS UNKNOWN AT THIS TIME IF THE FAILURE IS DUE TO AN IMPROPER RIGGING, MECHANICAL FAILURE OR FATIGUE FRACTURE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
