NARRATIVE: PILOT STATED: ON A STRAIGHT IN APPROACH TO RHV, HE ENCOUNTERED A WIND GUST JUST AS HE FLAIRED. THE AIRCRAFT NOSE CAME UP SHARPLY AND DOWN VERY HARD CAUSING THE NOSE GEAR TO COLLAPSE. INSPECTOR STATEMENT: NOSE GEAR DOWN LOCK FUNCTION OK. COPY OF THIS REPORT WAS FURNISHED TO SJC OPERATIONS UNIT. NO PILOT DEVIATION AND NO 8010-11 GENERATED. THIS TERMINATES THE INVESTIGATION AND THIS REPORT IS CLOSED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
