## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: ON FRIDAY, MAY 23, 1997, MR. JACOBS OPERATED PIPER PA-23-250, N4700P ON AVFR FLIGHT FROM BERLIN, NH (BML) TO GORHAM, NH (NH05). THE WEATHER WAS VFR AND NOT A FACTOR. THE FLIGHT WAS UNEVENTFUL UNTIL THE LANDING ROLL OUT AT GORHAM, NH. AS THE ARICRAFT SLOWED ON THE LANDING ROLL THE NOSE WHEEL ENTERED AN AREA OF SOFT TURF WHICH CAUSED IT TO DIG IN AND COLLAPSE. THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED MINOR DAMAGE. THE PILOT HAD CALLED THE AIRPORT MANAGER AT GORHAM (NH05) PRIOR TO HIS DEPARTURE AND WAS TOLD THAT THE RUNWAY WAS SAFE FOR OPERATIONS. NO ACTION IS PLANNED.
