## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: THE PILOT MISMANAGED THE LANDING GEAR. WHILE ON FINAL APPROACH TO THIS VERY SHORT RUNWAY AT THIS PRIVATE AIRPORT, THE PILOT CONCENTRATED TOO MUCH ON THE LANDING AND SIMPLY FORGOT TO PUT THE LANDING GEAR DOWN. THIS HE DID OPENLY AND HONESTLY ADMIT TO THIS INSPECTOR. THIS AIRMAN WAS COUNSELED ON JUNE 2, 1997. AFTER COUNSELING WITH THIS AIRMAN IT WOULD APPEAR THAT HE DOES UNDERSTAND THE OPERATION OF THE LANDING GEAR. THIS GEAR UP LANDING APPEARS TO BE AN ISOLATED INCIDENT THAT, FOR HIM, WILL NOT AGAIN OCCUR.
