## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

NARRATIVE: ON JUNE 4, 1997, AT 4:46 AM, CST, N721FE, FOKKER F-27, ON APPROACH TO THE PEORIA, ILLINOIS AIRPORT HAD THE FIRE WARNING LIGHT FOR THE LEFT ENGINE ILLUMINATE. BOTH FIRE BOTTLES WERE DISCHARGED AND THE ENGINE WAS SECURED. AN EMERGENCY WAS DECLARED AND THE AIRCRAFT LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT. NO EVIDENCE OF A FIRE WAS FOUND. THIS INCIDENT IS CLOSED WITH THIS REPORT. MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL REPLACED THE FIRE DETECTION LOOP FOR THE LEFT ENGINE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
